Rajadamnern hosts two distinctly different fight experiences. Choosing the right night depends on whether you prefer fast-paced modern combat sports entertainment or authentic cultural 5-round Muay Thai.
Rajadamnern World Series (RWS)
RWS is a global combat sports-entertainment spectacle. It combines elite Thai and international athletes with concert-grade lighting, smoke effects, DJs, and bilingual broadcast commentary. The rule format heavily discourages passive clinching and awards cash knockout bonuses, producing fast, high-impact action.
Traditional Promoter Fight Nights
Historic stadium Muay Thai in its purest form. Each bout is accompanied by live Sarama music played by ringside musicians whose tempo accelerates as the action intensifies. Upper tiers are alive with experienced Thai fight fans and animated hand-signal corner communication.
How to Get to Rajadamnern Stadium (Transit Guide)
Rajadamnern is located along Ratchadamnoen Nok Avenue on the edge of Bangkok's Old Town. Because evening road traffic in Bangkok is notoriously heavy, planning your transit route in advance is essential.
Khlong Saen Saep Express Boat
Phan Fa Lilat Pier (ท่าเรือสะพานผ่านฟ้าลีลาศ) · 700m walk (~8-10 mins)Take the Golden Line canal boat to its western terminus at Phan Fa Lilat Pier. From the pier, walk north along Ratchadamnoen Nok Avenue past the Ministry of Agriculture. The walk takes about 8 to 10 minutes and completely bypasses gridlock traffic from Sukhumvit, Siam, and Asok.
MRT Subway (Blue Line)
Sam Yot Station (Exit 1 or 3) · 2.3 km taxi connectionTake the MRT Blue Line to Sam Yot Station. From Sam Yot, hail a metered taxi, tuk-tuk, or Grab for the short 2.3 km ride straight up Ratchadamnoen Nok. Outside of peak rain or rush periods, the drive takes around 7 to 10 minutes.
BTS Skytrain
National Stadium or Siam Station · 3.5 km taxi connectionTake the BTS to National Stadium (Silom Line) or Siam / Ratchathewi (Sukhumvit Line). From the station, connect via metered taxi or ride-hailing app. During the 17:30 to 19:30 rush hour, allow at least 35 to 45 minutes for the taxi leg.
Taxi & Ride-Hailing (Grab / Bolt)
Set destination to 'Rajadamnern Stadium'Show your driver the Thai name: 'สนามมวยราชดำเนิน ถนนราชดำเนินนอก'. Always ensure the driver turns on the taximeter. After the event concludes, taxis queue along the avenue and Grab rides can be ordered directly from the stadium entrance.

Practical spectator tips to ensure a smooth fight night experience:
Doors Open & Entry Time
Arena doors and ticket booths generally open 1 hour before the first fight (around 17:00 for 18:00 weekday cards, and 18:00 for 19:00 Saturday RWS cards). Arrive 30 to 45 minutes before the start time to easily clear security checks and find your seat before the opening Wai Kru ritual.
Dress Code & Climate
Casual and smart-casual clothing is standard. Clean t-shirts, polo shirts, jeans, and knee-length shorts are completely acceptable for spectators. Shirts are required at all times. Because the modernized arena is fully air-conditioned, bringing a light jacket or cardigan is recommended for comfort during longer cards.
Camera & Filming Rules
Spectators are welcome to take personal photos and short videos with smartphones and compact personal cameras. Professional equipment—including interchangeable telephoto lenses, DSLR rigs, tripods, and commercial video gear—is prohibited without advance press accreditation from stadium management.
Food, Drinks & Amenities
Modern concession stands inside the concourse sell cold draught beer, soft drinks, water, popcorn, and Thai snacks. Outside food and beverages are not allowed inside the venue. Clean restrooms and merchandise counters are available inside the concourse.
